Troubleshoot
* My config tool is messed up!
If the config tool is only showing you garbled characters, you need to set up your system to use Japanese as the language for non-Unicode programs. This is independent from the language of your Windows version or your configured input languages. In Windows 7, you can find this setting under Control Panel / Region and Language / Administrative / Change System Locale. You should choose "Japanese (Japan)" and restart your system. Once you are happy with the configuration of the game, you can return this setting to its default value.!
* What is that checkbox in the config screen for?
That checkbox with a Japanese description toggles fullscreen on and off. The same can be achieved anytime while executing the game by pressing Alt + Enter
OK, great. Full-screen works... at about 1000fps!
I have this problem in Windows 7 and I haven't found a perfect solution for it. For some reason the game works at the proper speed in windowed mode, but goes hyper turbo in full-screen. My workaround is enabling the compatibility setting "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" for the game's executable.
* I want to use a control pad
