The instrument has a soft, sorrowful, melancholic tone to it and is a perfect companion for emotional or ambient type of scores. The 8dio Alien Drum is unique in the sense it was recorded at an average of 15 velocity layers and with 10 round-robin repetitions pr. layer/note, so you will never experience any repetition in the articulation.

Welcome to the 8DIO Natural Acoustic Series - a studio collection of high-end deep-sampled acoustic instruments. Mandolin Strummer is the follow-up to our Mandolin Solo library. The Mandolin Strummer contains over 11.500 samples spread across 13 different chord types and 18 common rhythm types. All the chords and rhythms can seamlessly be blended using our x-legato technology. The X-legato system allows you to combine any chord and rhythm at any given time giving you an infinite amount of combinations. In addition the Mandolin Strummer is a round-robin based strum library, so even if you trigger the same chord/rhythm multiple times - you will get natural subtle variation. The Mandolin Strummer also contains a unique patch with motion picture inspired strums.

We included both normal and morphed Mandolin patches to cover all dimensions of the instrument, including hundreds of natural fret and release noises. The morphed patches blend the Mandolin with a wide selection of other instruments (including high-pitched Double Basses, Bulbul Tarang, Steel String Guitars, Plucked and Regular Grand Piano, a large variety of custom Tonal Percussions, etc). The diversity of the morphed patches expands the sonic palette of the Mandolin allowing it to fit perfectly in different styles of music.
