THE CHUNKIEST, DIRTIEST KEYS EVER
Why did we sample a Broken Wurlitzer 200A electric piano? We were asking around producers we know, to see if anyone had any junky, but cool sounding old keyboards; Neil Davidge, producer for Massive Attack, said "..erm, I have an old Wurlizer piano with a dodgy distorting speaker that sounds great". So, we borrowed it, and he was right, it did sound really great.

For Kontakt 5.0.3 and up. Virologic contains sampled patches from the Access Virus synthesizer. The samples are in 24bit 44.100 Khz ncw format. The library is divided into 12 sound categories with 305 instruments and 43 Multis. Patches marked with 'MW' have a sound change when using the modulation wheel.

8Dio Solo Taiko Drums KONTAKT



8DIO Solo Taiko Drums is the most comprehensive set of deep-sampled Taikos on the market – containing over 4.200 samples and 3.9GB. The library contains several larger Taikos (O-Daiko) down to a wide variety of smaller Taikos (Shimes) and everything in between. Solo Taiko Drum contains 60 different recordings of Taiko Drums and was recorded in two microphone perspectives (close and far). The two microphone positions allows you to sculpt a larger sound and potentially render Taiko in a surround environment too. The Solo Taikos also contains a variety of alternative articulations like different stick types, taikos played with hands, rimshots and clacks. In addition we also added a bonus sample set of Cannon Barrel sounds. It is common for Taiko ensemble to supplement the Taikos by playing on a metal barrel, which evidently symbolizes the barrel of a cannon.

This Kinderklavier was deep sampled and close-mic’ed to capture all it’s subtle nuances. As usual, we deeply sampled the instrument, every single 25 notes with 8 round robin and an average of 6 velocity layers per note. The keys of the Kinderklavier had such unique character that we had to multi-sample and include them as release triggers with multiple round robin and velocity layers. In addition to our standard deep sampling, the Kinderklavier was beaten with sticks and mallets, dismantled, probed, strummed and tortured in just about as many ways as we could think of, creating a variety of effects sounds. After extracting all usable sounds, we decided to push the library further by creating a set of tuned, deep ambiences. Topping off the library is a complete set of custom controls tuned for each patch and our own custom reverb with 46 unique impulses to choose from.

8DIO Solo Frame Drum represents one of the most widespread and versatile families of drums – with a history crossing through ancient Middle East, India, Rome and through a variety of Islamic cultures. The Frame Drum defined by the simple characteristic that the width of the drumhead is greater then its depth, but besides from that the Frame Drum comes in thousands of variations. It is known for its distinct sustained sound and its multi-resonant qualities.
The Frame Drum is traditionally tuned with straps or lugs, while others are permanently set at a fixed pitch. Many also incorporate beads, rattles, cymbals, jingles, rings, bells, snares or other accessories, to augment the primary sound and add specialized auxiliary articulations. Some are played with hands, while others use thin sticks, thick bones, soft mallets, combs, brushes and other specialized tools to produce a huge range of unique musical tones and effects. Some members of the Frame Drum family may even lack a striking head and rely entirely on rattles or other elements to produce their sound.
