Oracle Database 12c Release 1 12.1.0.1 for Solaris/ (VMWare Image)



We offer a virtual machine for those who work and want to learn DBMS Oracle Database 12c Release 1 on a platform Oracle Solaris!


Features:

Requirements : 25Gb hard drive and 4GB of free RAM .
Created a database of non-containerized "orcl" (non-CDB)!
1) Configuration of the associative VMWare Workstation 10 . (Hardware ver. 10)
Can also be run in VMWare Player 6.0 and above
To run in ESX requires conversion via VMWare Converter.
2) In the virtual machine running the latest version of VMWare Tools 9.6.2
3) Have all the packages required for installing and running the software Oracle Database 12c
4) Make the settings in accordance with the operating requirements of the Oracle Database 12c
A virtual machine created three disks :
the first system - volume 40Gb ( file system.vmdk);
the second - to install application software and data ( volume 40Gb - file u01.vmdk), - to be mounted on / u01;
third disc is intended for data files DBMS Oracle ( volume 100Gb - file u02.vmdk) - to be mounted on / u02.
All virtual disks are created as thin provisioning.

Inside the VM with a network interface , " sees" the external network (bridget network). IP- address is received by DHCP.
0 . If you start the virtual machine you get an error : "This virtual machine cannot be powered on because its working directory is not valid. Please use the configuration editor to set a valid working directory, and then try again.", Then go to properties machine ("Settings ... -> Options -> Working directory") , type the path to the directory in which this is a virtual machine.
1. The Oracle software files are located on disk u01.vmdk ( mount point / u01 in a virtual machine )
2 . Database files are located on disk u02.vmdk ( mount point / u02 in a virtual machine )
3 . All software ( database instance , listener ) will automatically launch at startup OS. When shutdown- s all OS software also automatically stops.
4 . All software has been established under the user oracle - his entourage set to Database Home.
5 . Enterprise Manager Express starts automatically .
